Liquidated damages

Fixes a pre-agreed sum payable on specified breaches.

In plain English

A number both sides agree upfront as the payout if a particular thing goes wrong (e.g. late delivery). In India a court will only enforce a reasonable amount — you can't use it as a penalty.
